I'm trying to extract SlimServer but LS will not CD to the proper directory.

I type cd /mnt/LS and get an error. See screenshot...

I'm using Telnet via Putty

Any ideas?

Tried to type dir earlier and that didn't work (see screenshot below). Am I at the right prompt?

Thanks!

1. It looks like you are missing a space between cd and /mnt

2. On Linux use "ls" and not "dir" so try "ls /mnt/LS" note there is a space between "ls" and "/mnt/LS"

Edit:
On all your commands it looks like you are missing the space between the command e.g. rm, vi and the path name which begins with "/"

I'm at work now (couldn't finish the install before I had to come in for a few hours of mandatory overtime), I sure hope it's that simple of a fix when I get home!!!

Thanks.

My commands are working now, but it doesn't recognize the name I gave the share in Windows. I renamed it after I put it in this directory (using Windows)...could that be the problem?

Does Linux see it as a different name?

Here's the ls of my drive...which one is my share?

Thanks!

PS - I'm almost there!!!

I've downloaded the SlimServermodules.

Can someone tell me what to do next? Do I delete the dbi.pm file, then do I copy the modules to my LinkStation??

Really appreciate the help...I've been working on this a litte each day for 3 days and I think I'm almost done!!

Thanks.

Why do you want to delete dbi.pm ?

The file is in fact DBI.pm - Linux is case sensitive unlike Windows

What result did you get when you did
/mnt/hda/share/SlimServer_v6.2.1/Bin/build-perl-modules.pl

If the above command completed then try starting slimserver again ?

Sorry, I forgot to capitalize it in my post.

I deleted DBI.pm, and the DBI and DBD directories as instructed by the wiki here: http://linkstationwiki.org/Articles/MIPSelSlimServer
