View Full Version : Two MusicMagic questions

I just got MusicMagic running on my server and have two questions.

1. Maybe I'm missing the obvious, but how do you generate a MM playlist
from the SB? Do I need to generate and save them all from the web
browser and recall the static playlists on the SB?

2. If I'm running MM in Linux headless mode, do I need to use the GUI to
re-analyze every time I add news songs?

Thanks.

Just to check... you do have the Music Magic plugin installed? And the paid-for version of the Music Magic software that permits the integration?

Is the MMM plugin enabled? Read step 5 of the wiki for instructions: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?MusicMatchMixerHeadlessOnLinux

Once MMM is setup playlist can be generated from the web or through the remote.

A rescan can be triggered via the MMM web interface (http://localhost:10002). The headless mode doesn't have the "watch folders" capability of the GUI.

Yes. All of that MusicMagic backend is working correctly.

I found the press & hold functionality of the remote control. However, after the playlist is generated I get an error "Problem: Slimserver can not open the file". I then need to skip to another song in the playlist. If I skip back to the first song it plays correctly. Why would that be?

The headless mode doesn't have the "watch folders" capability of the GUI.

For the record, the Linux version doesn't have Watched Folders in headless or GUI mode. Which is a shame.
