So I've read that with a palm tx with wifi using blazer as my browser I should be able to access my slimserver and control my squeezebox using http://yourserver:9000/Handheld/. After substituting my server address I continue to get that the page you requested cannot be displayed. There must be a preference somewhere that I'm missing either on my handheld or the computer. I am using a windows xp computer and have allowed sharing. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you checked the firewall settings?

Well persistence pays off. Got it all figured out. I was using the wrong ip address to replace "yourserver."

To figure out your ip address on a windows computer
click Start and Run. Then type cmd in the Open field. At the DOS prompt, type ipconfig and press enter which will give you the ip address. Then on your browser type http://ipaddress:9000. Do not add "handheld" at this point. You should then be logged on and you can change the default setting to handheld to have it look proper on your palm. Works like a charm.
