Is there some significant advantage of buying an SB3 rather than an SB2? #1 seems to be aesthetics, but SB2 looks fin to me. I'm not such a Mac lover that an aqua display thrills me more than a green one. I don't expect to use the device as an alarm clock.

Does SB2 have WMA capabilities, or is it likely to get them through a firmware upgrade? If not, I guess I need to count that as a plus for SB3, though I avoid WMA when possible.

I want to network wirelessly (using Airport), and I have to admit I find the antenna on the SB2 reassuring. More generally, reading the forums gives me the impression that SB3 may have more problems than the more tried and true SB2--though I can't quite tell for sure about that. TIA!

Internally, they're almost exactly identical.

SB2 and SB3 use the same firmware.

That's almost certainly because new SB2 sales have been near-zero for the past few months and SB3 sales seem to be higher-than-expected (which is a good thing, especially since Slimdevices seems able to adapt to it, even if caught offguard the first month or so).

The SB3 is essentially exactly the same as the SB2. There are some
slight differences internally (layout, internal power supplies) but
functionally, they are identical.

Others have answered most of your questions, but
regarding wireles strength...my SB2 has 10-15% greater
wireless strength than my SB3 in any given location.

Therefore my SB2 goes downstairs and my SB3 in my
living room, not due to aesthetics (although it works
out nicely that way!) but due to the fact that my
router is on my upper level...

Now that said, my SB3 has never had bandwidth issues.
