Tried starting slimserver on my new intel based iMac and got the following error:

"You cannot open SlimServer preferences pane on this computer. Contact the developer of this software for a newer version."

Any plans to develop a slimserver for the new macs?

already done, download the latest nightly build:

Best to start with 6.2.2, as 6.5 is experimental

You don't say what version you're currently running -- the relatively stable
(with a slightly problematic firmware revision 29 for SB3) 6.2.2 branch
(along with 6.5 unstable of course) is supposed to have the updated
preference pane for Intel macs.

This is still beta-quality, although many use it on a daily basis. Head to
the beta forums to report any issues you have.

Any plans to develop a slimserver for the new macs?
It's being worked on.
See this thread in the development forum.

I mean, the Intel Macs have been out what, a whole week?
Is this a great country or what?

I guess that'll teach me to open my mouth before looking around a bit more. Thanks for the quick replies.

I'm quite new to the Mac (just received my iMac this very day, in fact), so I have to ask a stupid question: what exactly do I need to download from the 6.2.2 nightly build page and what do I do with it to get the Slim server up and running?

I see these choices:

SlimServer_6_2_x_v2006-02-08.ZIP
SlimServer_6_2_x_v2006-02-08.no-cpan-arch.tar.gz
SlimServer_6_2_x_v2006-02-08.tar.gz
SlimServer_6_2_x_v2006-02-08_perlscripts.ZIP

What am I going for?

Thanks

for osx, you'd want the dmg file, which appears to be missing at this
time. (as does the exe)

The .exe is there, but the Mac that does the builds appears to be
wedged.

I'll take a look tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.
