I notice that the wireless version of SB3 allows the ethernet port to be used for bridging which is great as I have a ReplayTV beside the stereo which I would like to connect to the ethernet port instead of via the phone line. Is it possible to share multiple devices via the port... i.e. can I plug in an old router to bridge more than one ethernet device? How does bridging impact the SB3 - am I likely to run into stuttering or drops in the streamed audio if the device being bridged is sending/receiving a lot of info?

Thanks, Dave

Yes, you can plug in an old router or a switch.

Most routers act as switches with everything tied
into the LAN ports, so don't use the WAN port.
Just connect the SB3 to one of the LAN ports and
other devices to the other ports.

I don't think you need a crossover cable for this
either.

I did some tests on this. I could completely
saturate the connection without affecting FLAC
playback in the slightest. FLAC playback only
reduced bridged speed slightly. WAV would have a
larger effect, but the impact with FLAC was so
minimal I don't think there would be problems.
