Is this possible? I just took the advice of the 770 slimpage and installed
the lates 6.5 nightly and then found that the branch is now unstable (the
770 page needs updating for this)

is there any other way of getting the skin?

Nokia770 is 6.5 only, sorry. It will never be supported in 6.2.

FWIW, I'm using an up-to-date checkout of 6.5 and it seems fine for me. Try another daily build and I think you'll be okay.
cheers,

I tried the 28/1/05 package and got a blank screen through the web
interface. I'll give it another week - it's usable with the current screens

sorry, when I said try another daily build, I meant tomorrow's. I had seen the same behavior and fixed it with an update to my subversion checkout. That probably means it will be cleared in the 1/29 daily. Good luck.

Does the 770 browser work as-is with most 'standard' websites (ie, Amazon, Orbitz, yahoo) (as contrasted with most windows handhelds that only 'work' with pda-friendly sites). If it does, that plus the 'better remote for sqb3' would be worth the price of admission.

Now, if you could only stick a 'knob' on it...

You won't have any 'is this PDA friendly' worries with the 770. The browser rocks. If you have reservations, I'd check with your area CompUSA and/or Frey's and see if they have a demo unit out.

Don't get me started with 'the knob'... Chris, took me a while to figure out that you are the same Chris I've emailed with in the past. I gave Chris advice to follow my footsteps in transitioning off of the Audiotron (which was an inferior product, except for that glorious wonderful KNOB).

cheers,

this reply was written in gmail using the 770 browser. it is
impressive - particularly usinger the view optimise setting (which
works really well with the handheld skin). the other programs are less
impressive however, the handwriting recognition is a joke and the
hardware is rather underpecced. it is anawesome slim remote
