I have had to remove some files from my slimserver collection on occasion.

So far the only way I can figure out to do this is to delete the files from my music folder and then have my slimserver rescan my folder. This is a long process.

Is there a better way to do this? In iTunes it is pretty easy to remove a file from your collection. I have quite a few songs (almost 7,000) and it can take a while for slimserver to rescan.

This is the only way to do this.

How long do your rescans take? They shouldn't take
that long.

They take a good 5 minutes at least. I can live with it, it just is a lot longer than it takes with iTunes (just click and delete).

Most likely iTunes is instant because it catalogs in and XML file.

Are you rescanning the entire library or saying look only for changes? How fast is your CPU?
