Nope, sorry

Slimserver scans your music hel on you PC and makes that available to the Squeezebox. It is not a sound card.

You can rip the DVD's audio (either stereo, 5.1 AC3 or DTS) and have this
played out of the Squeezebox's digital output.

Look in the ripping forum.

I'll look it up in the ripping forum, but will this lead to having to sync the audio to the video somehow? Is this the thread you are refering to?

again no. Slimserver and the Squeeze box is designed from the ground up for making your cd collection available on demand anywhere in your house/office/etc. Although it is possible to stream compressed 5.1 audio through an SB3s digital out to a surround reciever this is really just as a consequence of the design of the system, i don't think it was a major factor originally.

There is a way to get any audio that plays either through, or recieved by the soundcard, streamed to a SB. but this is stereo only, and involves pumping it through a Shoutcast server. There is no way to get this sycronised with video. Have a seach on the forums for more info on this, there are a couple of active threads right now on the subject.
