View Full Version : SB3 Antenna Problem?

I've just received my brand new SB3 and am pretty keen to get it going. On setup the SB3 detected my network SSID fine, but it timed out while trying to connect to the netowrk. Upon further investigation of the settings screens on the SB3 I found my wireless signal strength to be dropping in and out wildy. It displays a signal strength of 80-90% for a few seconds then drops back to zero. By moving the SB3 into the same room as my router, signal strength got as high as 99% but still periodically dropped to zero. Other clients on the wireless network do not have this problem.

My thoughts are that this is a problem with the internal antenna in the SB3 and it needs to be returned. Is there another possibility I am overlooking?

It's probably not the antenna itself. Try switching your access
point to another channel and see if the behavior changes, it could be
interference.

If that doesn't work, get in touch with support (AT) slimdevices (DOT) com.

Thanks for the suggestion, Dean.

I changed the wireless channel a couple of times and found one that works. Signal strength is now a consistent ~75%, my Squeezebox is connected and music is streaming perfectly. I'm very happy!
