I'm having problems reconnecting to SlimServer. Windows XP Home, SB2, wireless connection via LinkSys WAP54G. Everything has previously worked fine for several months. Suddenly the SB2 can't connect, and Slim Server says player can't be found.

I think this should point to the problem, but I'm not sure how to solve it. All of my home network addresses start with "172", but when the SB3 automatically obtains an IP address, the assigned address starts with "169." Manually assigning an IP address starting with 172 does not solve the problem.

Any suggestions? Any additional information needed?

Thanks.

If you're getting an assigned address beginning 169, it means your SB can't contact the DHCP server. Might be worth giving your router a good hard kick (reboot/reset) and restarting the SB.

Did you really mean 172 for your local addresses? 192 would be more normal.

Other possible issues include (1) broken router, (2) new source of interference on your wireless channel - try another one.
