View Full Version : Automatic volume adjustment bug

Just before I file a bug report, I'd like to verify it
with the forum.

With automatic volume adjustment (i.e. with ReplayGain
tags) I found that it was defeated if you did any
searching within the song with the fast forward or
rewind function. The song resumes at full volume.
Volume adjustment is reactivated with the next song in
the playlist.

This is 100% reproducible with FLACs. I haven't tried
it out with MP3s yet.

Yep, thanks Kevin.

I'll test whether this happens with MP3 playback
as well. I think it would.

This may be a tough fix. I remember hearing that
ReplayGain data is stored at the start of the file
(or maybe the end?) At any rate, if it's not
stored continuously throughout the file, resuming
from a portion in the middle would lose the data.

The data will have to be cached somewhere. It
would require a firmware change.

BTW next time I'll do a search through the bug
list first.
