Hi,

I got a simple question but I haven't been able to find the answer (on the forums and the FAQ). Basically, if it is possible for multiple music players (iTunes, Windows Media Player) on different computers to listen to the same playlist? I don't need them to be in sync or anything. One master playlist, and everybody just "tap" into that stream.

Thanks for the help in advance,
Ben

The only way to do that is to use SoftSqueeze and synchronize. The
individual non-Softsqueeze media players will each show up as separate
players and will have their own playlists.

Each player gets it's own stream, but you can play the same songs at
the same time, or load the same playlists same time or any time. If
you do want to synchronise, then you would need hardware players or
softsqueeze.

Hi

Is there a webgui (like that excellent Fishbone) that does what kdf is talking about?
I'm guessing he's not talking about doing it manually.
I could imagine that the pulldown where you can choose the player, has the option all, automatically updating all the players.
Or is there another way?

You would have to do it manually if you do not have sync'ed players. There is the FollowMe plugin, that alllows you to pass a curent playlist from one player to another, but that doesn't start playback at the same time either. It sounds like that you want is really synchronised players. In that case, use softsqueeze on each remote site and sync them using the player settings. Then you can pick the sync'ed group in the player pulldown.
