View Full Version : Can I control my SB3 from iTunes?

I am encoding my entire music collection to lossless in iTunes. I'm taking the time to scan in album art and make it look really nice.

I know I can use SlimServer to tap into and play my iTunes music and playlists. My question is, can I play my music from iTunes, and have it stream from there through SlimServer and out to the Squeezebox?

The reason I want to do this is that I've set up a nice reclining chair, and I want to be able to look up at the iTunes screen and see the album art of whatever song I'm listening to staring back at me. Oh, the sweetness!

I don't think you can do this directly. It can be done indirectly,
losing the lossless effect, by Nicecast (on a Mac, similar programs
on Windows, don't know about Linux) to make a broadcast stream from
the computer's sound, and getting the SB to accept this.
