Newby question by a Dev who never bothered to learn Perl :-)

Does the slimserver ever send raw wav data to the squeezebox?

Some files (including mp3) stutter like mad when listening to them over the internet (1Meg balanced internet connection). Most of my collection are OK, but some stutter as if the bandwidth isnt enough to carry the data.

If raw wav is sent sometimes, is there a way for my to ensure all my collection are converted to a format that is NOT sent as wav.

Sorry if this is a dumbass question, I only got by Squeeeezebox on saturday..:-)

Thanks in advance

player settings->audio->bitrate limiting.

anything other than "no limit" will force MP3 at the selected bitrate
or less (if already lower), as long as you have LAME installed
properly. The description text for the setting will let you know if
lame is found or not.
