Hi,

I have just installed AlienBBC (1.00) on my slimserver v6.2.1 - 5194.

The test of AlienBBC seems to work and I can play PodCasts no problem at all. When I try to play say Radio1, an error occurs in the log file;

2006-01-09 19:50:56.0073 PlayableAODItem: Trying to get stream for: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/networks/radio1/live.shtml

2006-01-09 19:50:59.2082 ERROR: Couldn't gotoNext, stopping

Any ideas guys ?

Many thanks

Could you try increasing the radio station timeout in the server settings. If this doesn't help could you post the trace output as described on http://www.x2systems.com/alienbbc/installation.html

Ahh - it would seem that it now works fine with my squeezebox, but it only errors when I try to play remotely via WinAmp ?

Any more ideas ???

Thanks
John

You can't stream BBC stations to WinAmp, this is specifically disabled. If you want to play it on your PC then SoftSqueeze should work.

OK - thanks for this information. Do we know why this is specifically disabled ? Anything to do with Copyright/broadcasting issues ?

Anything to do with Copyright/broadcasting issues?Yes, if it was enabled you could save streams and we didn't want to get involved in any problems in that area.
