Hi there

I'm using SlimServer 6.2 and recently tried downloading some plugins to use. I've tried both AlienBBC and RadioPlayList and both fail to be added as SlimServer plugins. I've tracked it down to missing .pm files from my distribution (see below).

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the /Slim directory that contains Slim/Utils/Prefs.pm modules (and the rest)?

Thanks - James.

C:\Program Files\SlimServer>perl -ICPAN -c Plugins/Alien/Plugin.pm
Can't locate Slim/Utils/Prefs.pm in @INC (@INC contains: CPAN C:/Program Files/Perl/lib C:/Program F

they are included with the slimserver distribution. Plugins are meant
to be loaded BY the server, so messages caused by trying to load them
as standalone modules will be misleading. if you want to check on
startup issues, you need to run slimserver with the --d_plugins
command-line option. in windows:

c:\program files\slimserver\server\slim.exe --d_plugins will work from
a command prompt

..I did run slim.exe --d_plugins and it didn't give me any info. I followed some debugging FAQ from the AlienBBC site which recommended trying to run the module directly like I described.

If they're meant to be distributed with the package then how come I didn't get them?
