View Full Version : search.xml bug ?

Hi All

I've been playing with the XML skin (and I must say, it's so much faster in 6.2 than previous releases - good job !)

I've noticed that when using the 'search.xml' page, I'm getting *html* returned, eg :

http://slimserver:9000/xml/search.xml?type=artist&query=ozric

- this returns an HTML table with links to the browsedb.html page, rather than the XML document I was expecting.

While it does return valid XHTML (and I could parse it using DOM/SAX etc), it'd be nicer if it worked as expected.

Unless of course I've done something screwy in my request (but it doesn't look like it).

Bug ?

Thanks

Chris

is this the latest 6.2.2 nightly build?. The Endless has been actively
updating the xml skin since 6.2.

If you are still having the issue with the latest build, please file a
bug report at bugs.slimdevices.com

Sorry, I should have mentioned that this is with the latest 'official' build from the main website (6.2.1 ?) - I'm too paranoid to run the latest builds as my slimserver/squeezebox work just fine at the moment :o)

Thanks

Chris

I can confirm that there's an issue. I'm looking into it.
In the meantime, if you specifiy "&manualSearch=1" on the querystring you should get some usable results.
http://slimserver:9000/xml/search.xml?type=artist&query=ozric&manualSearch=1There will be some errant xhtml in there, but the "browse_entry" items should be easily parsable (is that a word?).
