Well, yes, but it might not do what you want! It appears that you can create folders, containing playlists - just use your file manager to organise as you wish (eg Windows Explorer). Slimserver, it seems, will read through the directories and give you a flattened list of all of the playlists it finds.

I guess you were probably wanting to make use of the hierarchy though the interfaces, though?

I asked this question in different lanquage about a week ago and and did not receive a reply.

I tried every thing that I could think of to accomplish folders in playlists but was unsuccessful. Slimserverver always pulled out the m3u files, ignored the folders, and placed them in alpahbetical order.

I have about 70 playlists and would like to have more but they are becoming difficult to handle. This could all be made easier if they cold be placed in folders. Maybe, the solution is to ask for this to be added in the future.

Of course, you could have multiple playlists but that would require rescanning the playlists each time you wanted to change. I guess that would not be too much of a problem if you wanted to listen to Jazz, Classical, etc for an entire evening.

I hope that you and or slimdevices can come up with a solution in the near future.

I suggest you visit and possibly vote for...

which seems to cover what you want. Shown as targetted for 6.5, though I imagine thats a target rather thana commitment.

I tried this with a folder with 15 playlists and about 300 songs and a playlist rescan on my slow computer only required 2.5 minutes. I guess then that this is a temporary solution for a evening of music until slimdeices corrects the proplem in the future.

Be certain to vote for the bug above!

Something you may want to try is appending a category or something (whatever you would have named the folder) to the begining of the playlist filename. Something like "Jazz_Playlist_01.m3u".

You won't get quite the same effect as with folders, It will still be a flat list, but playlists of a like category will, at least, be grouped together.

I tried naming my folders *.m3u and the list of playlists was still a flat alpha file which ignored the folders!
