I had always assumed the full-width spectrum analyzer
screensaver worked like this:
- from centre to the left was the L channel
- from the centre to the right was the R channel
- high frequencies were towards the centre, low
towards the edges
Now I'm not so sure about the last part. I'm playing
Christmas music as I write Christmas cards. It's not
exactly bass-laden material! :-) And it's the outer
edges of the spectrum that are most active on high
material, like choral music.
So which is it, high material towards the edges or low
material towards the edges?
Thanks.
