Silly question time again!
Are there no other similar applications of the Tripath chipset out there other than the Sonic Impact T-Amp? (excluding mod-shop stuff)
This question leads to all kinds of other questions, but maybe one answer will do them all.
TIA
Nick

OK, I've found the X-series at av123.com, supposedly due out imminently. 50wpc digital amp for $99, with an input switch. I honestly don't understand why this stuff is so slow to go mainstream, other than it undercuts the major's profits! :-)

i saw this as well, but the press release doesn't mention anything about it
being based on a tripath chip - did you confirm this? although, a 99$
digital amp these days *has* to be tripath i guess. interesting stuff
nonetheless.

You're right, they say it isn't a Tripath chip, but better. Apparently the big guy in the company has been spending a lot of time in China, so he may have managed to arrange a 'knock-off'. Who knows - they have been secretive about the internals. I'm definitely keeping it on my radar. How much longer until we can buy something like this at BestBuy?
