I get the same behaviour with Internet Explorer on 3
Windows computers, with Firefox on two Windows
computers and with Mozilla on one Linux computer.
When I browse down to "Song Info For..." I see the
artist name rendered incorrectly after "Artist:", but
rendered correctly after "Location:"
So I am sure it is not a browser setting, it is an
error in how Slimserver handles non-ASCII characters.

Hmm... I have all except Züri West in my collection.
Must check out Züri West...

Ok, you did your homework :-)

This is not the same value. "Artist" is normally extracted from the tags
whereas the location is your folder/filename. Do you have the possibility
to check the encoding of your file's tags? Try storing them as utf8 for
one song and give it another try.

I do understand your desire to learn a foreign language. But I'm not sure
whether swiss german is a good choice to start with :-)
