View Full Version : Being returned to Now Playing

OK, bear with me while I try to explain this one...

I'm a fickle kind of chap, and often put on music for just a couple of minutes or so before deciding I'd like to hear something else.

Trouble is, the Squeezebox switches to 'Now Playing' very quickly, which means that when I change my mind I have to re-navigate through all the menu layers - particularly frustrating, for example, when I want to choose a track from a different album by the same artist.

If anyone could tell me how to prevent the Squeezebox switching to 'Now Playing' unless I press the button on the remote, I'd be very grateful indeed.

Thanks in advance, and apologies if I'm raising an issue that's old or which has an obvious solution!

Change your "when playing" screen saver to Now Playing - Jump Back on Wake. This will put you back where you were in the menus when you interrupt the screensaver.

Ah, that's what Jump Back on Wake does! Thanks for the tip.

Yes, the name isn't very good at describing it's purpose! Can anyone think of something better? I remember being completely confused by this when I first got my squeezebox - it wasn't until someone described it on these forums that I understood.

'Now playing - hold menu place'?

Maybe it's the other one that needs renaming?
I'd imagine everyone expects a "screensaver" to return to the original
position when woken up.

Thanks for your help Max, it's much appreciated.

I agree that the name is confusing; I hadn't even realised that 'Now Playing' was classed as a 'Screensaver'.

I think it would be better named: 'Now Playing (Keep menu position)' or something along those lines.
