IR Blaster: do I have one?

Hello, I bought a Philips DVD recorder DVDR725 and it came with an 'IR Blaster' to send commands to sattelite receivers.
The connection is a 3,5 mm mono plug. The headphone out of the SB3 is stereo (of course).

Does the Slimdevices IR Blaster have a stereo or mono plug?
Can a IR blaster with mono plug work or do I short-circuit one channel which can't handle this?

The ones we sell have mono connectors on them. Should work fine.
