Hi again,

Here's another problem I'm seeing:

(6.0 latest from svn, fishbone skin)

I'm using a Martin Stephenson CD single as an example.

This is the track listing:

01 - There Comes A Time
02 - Crocodile Cryer
03 - Coleen (live)
04 - Running Water

Search for an artist (Martin Stephenson & The Daintees)
Click on the Artist to display the list of Albums

There should just be 1 album with 4 songs by 1 artist.
- Slimserver reports 3 albums with 4 songs by 1 artist

I should see just one line "There Comes A Time"
- I see three lines, all saying "There Comes A Time"

If I drill down to see what is displayed in the albums I see something
like this:

There Comes A Time
- Running Water
There Comes A Time
- Crocodile Cryer
- Coleen (Live)
There Comes A Time
- There Comes A Time

Actually, this problem also occurs without doing the search, i.e.
directly from "Browse Albums".

This is actually a feature in progress. It is meant to get rid of the greatest
hits problem, but does require a different kind of file organisation and some
more optimisations. The process currently takes files as they scan, and as long
as they appear consecutively in the scan, with the same album title, they get
grouped. However, there are a lot of other things that interrupt and those
need to be dealt with to clean it all up.

This was also why the items in skins are coming up wrong recently. The server
collect artists in an array for band, conductor, multiple artists, etc. Then
eadh album is referred to by title and by its contributors.

This is my understanding from pouring over the code. I'm sure there are plenty
of details that can be supplied by Slim when time permits
