A few months ago (in the summer) I posted a question asking how to create a playlist on the fly from my listening position. I was unhappy that I couldn't audition a tune and then add it to impromtu playlist. The responce was that it wasn't possible. I now find that I can do exactly this by using the zapped feature. Is this new or was my question just misunderstood?

Seriously... zapped has been around for a long time but we just never thought of using it for this.

Originally the idea was if you had files that needed to be cleaned up or deleted, you could mark them as you go.

This is great Sean. At the time I was so unhappy I almost returned my SB. Becuase I was so impressed with the sound quality through my high end sound system I decided to wait and see if the feature was ever developed. I'm glad I did.
This brings up another question. Can I make corrections (delete songs) from the Zapped playlist from the remote?

Browse playlists, play or add zapped.m3u
then you can press 'now playing' and navigate the zapped playlist
removing what you dont want to keep in it.
press-and-hold play jumps into the save playlist mode.
from there you can save over the zapped playlist, or save it as another
name.

Thanks Gerry. I've been looking for this feature too.

I'm not sure I understand. I tried to mod a Zapped playlist by deleting a tune. I couldn't seem to do it. I went into the playlist found a tune, pressed play, now playing and then add. It didn't work and just seemed to remove and then add right back into the Zapped list. Am I missing something?
Gerry
Ps When I experimented with Zapped I also seemed to create some "doubles" in the playlist (the song was added twice). Again, am I doing something wrong?

My SB seems to have crashed. I can't even connect.
I've never had this happen.

don't go into the playlist, just press play when you see Zapped in the
lists of playlists.
this will start playing the tracks. if you just want to browse and
delete, then simply press ADD
with an empty playlist. This loads all tracks in zapped.m3u to the
current playlist.

pressing now playing takes you to the current playlist.

Then pressing play will start playing the track showing.
pressing ADD will remove that track. (just don't hold ADD too long or
you zap it again)
press and hold PLAY gets you into save playlist (which would allow you
to save any current playlist.

I'm still figuring out how "now playing" works. Bear with me.

My next question is how do you save? I held "play" and that seemed to allow me to rename my "zapped list" but I couldn't figure out how to save.

If I understand correctly, in order to mod a "zapped" list I need to load it into "now playing", make the changes, and then resave it.
What I can't figure out is how to:
1) over-write the current "zapped" list and/or
2) how to save a renamed list

press right (as indicated by the right arrow)
then press right again to overwrite the file (as the top line will say)

then you'll have saved your new version.
