I'm progressing rapidly on adding WMA & AAC (w/DRM) support to the SlimServer.

Because of licensing issues, the decoder will need to be downloaded from a 3rd party site.

Has anyone been working on making Formats be Plugins?

I've also some code for pulling the isList() and isPlaylist() and isSong() data from types.conf

This has been a public service announcement.

(Does anyone on the dev list actually *use* WMA?)

God no, but I really like the idea of making formats plugin capable. It would
gie the users instant upgrades instead of having to wait for patches for each
readTag method to be added. I may be missing something but there doesnt' seem
to be too much blocking this from beingn possible. if not, its worth patching
the server to allow outside hooks for types, codecs, and readTags. It also
leaves any potential...erm...issues with format police, outside of the SlimServer
