Hi all,

I just got my Squeezebox and it's fantastic (and fantastic sounding). However, I was wondering if it would be possible to change the webpage title (the text you see on the top of the browser) to something else other than 'Welcome to Slimserver'.

Thanks
Adrian

you can change it in strings.txt then restart the server. just do a
search to find it (it's a big file)
be aware that this string is also used in other places, so it will show
there too. (eg, stream title when winamp is used to connect)

It doesn't seem to work.. nothing happens when I change the EN one.

you must restart the server.

and, are you sure you changed the right string. There are welcome strings for
slimserver, as well as squeezebox, slimp3 and softsqueze. Some skins change
the title based on what player you are using.

I changed it under
WELCOME_TO_SLIMSERVER

And I edited the strings.txt while SlimServer was not running.

the only other thing that it could be then would be browser caching. I don't
recall any of the skins using a hard coded title, and the localised
strings all
come from strings.txt (unless you specifically create a slimserver-strings.txt
file for custom strings).

Maybe you can coax it into flusing by changing the language in server settings
to something else, then back to english.

Perhaps Adrian's using the windows executable?

i hadn't thought about that. i would think it would be odd to have the
EXE include all of the strings.
i suppose it is possible. in that case, try copying that string to
slimserver-strings.txt. That should still be loaded, though I would
still expect the exe to load the strings on execution.
