Hi, I'm a big Internet radio Fan, and I would like to hear Internet Radio on my hifi, Could please answer some questions about squeezebox?

1. Can I hear internet radio stations with squeezebox without having turned on the Computer? (of course I have wireless lan)
2. Which Internet Radio formats does Squeezebox 2/3 support beside mp3? MMS/Asx? Ogg Vorbis? Real Audio? Are they all working without turning on the PC only with hifi and plugs?
3. Does Squeezebox 2/3 support russian/cyrillic fonts?
4. How difficult is Squeezebox to install? If I bought it, plugged it in into my hifi can I already play Internet Radio or do I have stillto install sth.?

Sorry for my bad english but I hope you've understood the main idea.
Thank you for your answers,
Wladi

yes. as long as you have an internet connection, you can connect SB2
or SB3 to Squeezenetwork to have access to internet radio

currently, via SqueezeNetwork you can play mp3 and wma (mms/asx, not
wma voice) internet radio. to play real audio streams, you will still
need the pc running and to install the AlienBBC plugin.

yes, but requires some added work on your part to install the truetype
fonts to allow SlimServer to support them. The font licensing does not
allow them to be included with slimserver.

If installing to a wired network, it is very easy and requires no
server if you plan to just use SqueezeNetwork. Connecting wireless is
usually very easy, but as always with wireless networks, some
routers/security settings may not be fully compatible.

Yes, you can. The service is called SqueezeNetwork and lets you stream
directly from the internet.

WMA, Flac and MP3 can be played directly without the need of additional
software or your own slimserver running.

It should, but I fear only when running your own slimserver. You'd have to
install some font file on the slimserver. See

If you've got a dhcp server it should really be easy to install. Do you
intend to use it wirelessly?
