Has anyone got Slimserver to run on Win2003 server?

Yeah, no problems.

I have subsequently moved to Linux for hosting SlimServer, but that's more
because of Windows, not SlimServer.

I got tired of needing to reboot Windows once or twice a month for critical
security patches. I can install those on Linux without rebooting and, in
general, my Linux system has been up for far, far longer than my Windows
system. Thus, by hosting SlimServer on Linux, my music is available for far
longer without interruption.

I have started slimserver 6.2 under 2003 but it stays in "starting" and never fully loads. Any ideas?

Did you install it as a service? A friend of mine had the same problem and reinstalled it as a service and it worked.

Just answer "Yes" when the installer asks you about it.

-> There wasn't this question in my install-procedure. But anyway - I installed it a second time and now I can reach the server via localhost:9999 - but the server lists no music even if I had defined the correct directory ... strange

Do you stock your files on a server/nas?

I have my files on drive d: ... nothing special there I think and I defined the path in Slimserver d:\sounds\ - but it does not list the files ... :-(
