Craig,

This morning Dan sent me some patches and a reworked Biography::Plugin.pm
which contains some interesting stuff (besides being adapted to v6.0).

Yes, there is such a routine! And it seems as it had been there for a
while... I guess it's basically the following:

my $http = Slim::Player::Source::openRemoteStream($searchURL, $client);
my $html = $http->content();
$http->close();

Dan is/has been working on making this non-blocking.

We should start some kind of plugin writer's guide with all that usefull
stuff... The reference is fine, but only covers the plugin infrastructure
itself, none of the rest.

Only a few hours ago I subscribed to the wiki :-). But please don't expect
anything before long.
