If any of you have recently played a Sony CD on your PC and it asked you to install a player, you might want to read this.

Apparently their player installs some very hard to remove hidden files and hooks into your OS for DRM purposes making it open to attack from programs that know how to exploit the hooks Sony put there.

Luckily I ripped all my CDs on a Mac...

I've had trouble with XCP in the past. Since then I've had autorun disabled. Even still, when I had it enabled, I never allowed the the CD to load any software.

It would be nice if anti-spyware programs like Adaware and Spybot could add database definitions that include the malware loaded by Sony's discs :-)
