View Full Version : Are the screensavers driven by SlimServer?

Just noticed playing a 1 Mbps FLAC that the large
spectrum analyzer screensaver was very sluggish.
Audio quality was stellar though, as usual.

Does this mean that the screensavers are driven by
SlimServer?

I don't mind disabling the screensaver if it saves
some bandwidth, although it seemed to have plenty to
ensure good audio playback.

Thanks.

The screensavers are driven by slimserver. However, the visualisers,
specifically are in firmware. The jumpy video during flac playback is a known
bug:

Aha. Note this stream is not transcoded to FLAC like
in the bug though, it's on the server in FLAC. And
I'm not having my screen freeze up, it's just
sluggish.

Should I add to the bug report?

absolutely. BTW, at the SB end, both flac and transcoded flac appear
the same. So, it is probably the same thing, simply described
differently. You'r added
comments will help.

Oh, wait a sec. Can't do that - I'm using SlimServer
6.1.1.

Thanks anyway.
