Hi:

Is there any way an override audio can be sent to one or several slims in a network? Sound in sound, like TV's picture in picture.

In other words, could you do something like send a "doorbell" chime into the audio stream if someone pushed the front doorbell?

Or a ringing sound if the phone is ringing.

Or a siren if the smoke detector ... well, you get the point.

felix has an announcement script available at gwendesign (dot) com. It
doesn't mix audio, but interrupts. I use the same techniques in my
POP3 checker plugin. I haven't tried it in a while, and I expect that
the way that SlimServer 6+ now handles playback, it might have some
delay in playing depending on how the buffers are affected.
