Hi,

I'm considering tpo buy a couple of SB3:s, and I want one to act as a "clock radio" that has a snooze button.
I do not want a remote for this, I really want a _real_ snooze button.

The best option would off course be if this was included on the SB3 (one or more custom buttons would ROCK), but since it isn't I guess my "only" option is to build one.

Do the SB3 has a geek port custom addons like this?

One option (mentioned in an earlier thread) would be to add an ir sender to my snooze button, but that seems like a harder hack to me.

Other options/opinions welcome...

/Jakob

I know you can't make any promises about new firmware, but do you think
that's feasible in the SB2/3? Or are we realistically waiting for the
next hardware rev?

Definitely feasible with both sb2 and sb3 hardware.

This sounds promising!

Is there any room inside the case to add an internal button(s) on the top of the SB3?

I have not (yet) seen any pictures/drawings of the SB3 opened PCB etc.

Depends how small the buttons are...

It's tight, but on the left side of the top surface there is plenty of room underneath.

Is there room for these buttons?

Because sometimes I need to completely disable the snooze button with
several failsafes...

Hi

Do you have the pin-out is to J6 inside Squeezebox version 2?

It would be good if the firmware could be updated to support output functions that were on SB1 connector:

* s/pdif enable - I used this to turn my external amp on/off
* ethernet link - used to indicate that there is a net connection
* infrared monitor - used to flash when remote operating

In a multi-room environment, where the amplifier may be hidden, it is important to be able to turn this on/off through the SB and not manually - so it would really help if someone here could take a look for me?

Thanks

An idea occured to me as I walked into the room with the SB2 and its screen was dark. It would be very slick if a motion detection sensor could be attached which would automatically wake up the display to full brightness when someone entered the room. My initial thinking was around power savings, but then realized the motion sensor would probably consume more power than the screen, but I have no idea.

Still it would be nice if the SB could darken, say after 5 minutes, and then automatically go to full brightness when someone enters the room.

Any thoughts on this?
