I have my internet radio stations in a .m3u file. 6.2 takes the URLs but not
the titles from this file. Instead of "ClassicFM" I get the URL displayed on
my SLIMs. Step backwards...

(2)
None of the rtsp:// (BBC) stations will play from that list. Only mms:. BBC
will however play from AlienBBC (I don't normally like using that). Go
figure :(

(3)
Thought m/c reboot may solve problem (2). On reboot Event Log shows

The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Application ) cannot be found.
The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message
DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use
the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for
details. The following information is part of the event: Operation `ne': no

line 267.

I use PDA and Handheld skin. The new skin has some playlist buttons on the
status page which bust the right-hand margin - not good.

Just tried to undo the damage and roll back to 6.1 - total shambles. Get
constant PERL failures. Another reboot, me thinks...

Real Streams (rtsp) has imho never been supported without the use of
AlienBBC.

What playlist buttons, what are they expected to do? Could you please send
a screenshot (even if it is on your PC)?

This is probably because that a number of the BBC streaming urls changed
recently. If you re-add the new addresses to your m3u file then these
should play again. (note the playing of these streams is done through
AlienBBC and not natively in Slimserver).

Agreed. I have Alien installed. My troubles with the BBC are well documented
in another threat but Neil Sleightholm did an awesome job getting the MPLAYER
problems pinned down.

There are no problems with the BBC URLs this time, mind. I went back to
backups and rolled back the 6.1 installation. All's well again. I am not
gonna touch 6.2 till someone tells me that the m3u/BBC mess is sorted out.

Sorry, Michael, cannot reproduce unless I installed 6.2 again, which I do not
wish to do until the m3u/BBC problems are sorted. If you have 6.2 installed
on your box, choose the Handheld skin and go to Status, I seem to recollect,
then you should find two button to the right of that page. I think sthg about
playlist management, but I could be wrong...

Please don't get me wrong, but we won't be able to fix anything if those
having the problem can't give us any more information.

Were you using Alien 0.99 with 6.2? If so can you describe exactly what case does not work for you (including posting a m3u
playlist)?

Pretty harmless stuff. Goes like this

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,BBC Radio 1 (Stereo 48k)
rtsp://rmlivev8.bbc.net.uk/farm/*/ev7/live24/radio1/live/r1_dsat_g2.ra
#EXTINF:-1,BBC Radio 2 (Stereo 48k)
rtsp://rmlivev8.bbc.net.uk/farm/*/ev7/live24/radio2/live/r2_dsat_g2.ra
[...]
#EXTINF:-1,Virgin Radio (Stereo 128k)
http://vruk.ic.llnwd.net/stream/vruk_vr_hi
#EXTINF:-1,XFM (Stereo 32k)
mms://ms2.capitalinteractive.co.uk/xfm_high

None of the rtsp stuff plays and for the mms stuff I see

mms://ms2.capitalinteractive.co.uk/xfm_high

scroll thru the display and not

XFM (Stereo 32k)

as I get with 6.1

---.---

Damned - I cannot recall how to check version of Alien. I think that you may
be right - might be 0.99. As I said, BBC plays when I go thru the actual plug-
in.

Thanks - ovr.

Olaf,

This playlist is working for me with 6.5 beta should also with the current 6.2.1 nightly. Could I suggest you give 6.2 another try
and report the output of d_source debugging if you see a problem
