Hi All,
I've just installed the slimserver on a fresh SUSE
9.3 Linux system. The server does not appear to have
been installed correctly... when I try to manually
start the server here is what I see...

linux1:~ # /etc/rc.d/init.d/slimserver start
/etc/rc.d/init.d/slimserver: line 12:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/functions: No such file or directory
/etc/rc.d/init.d/slimserver: line 15: .:
/etc/sysconfig/network: is a directory
/etc/rc.d/init.d/slimserver: line 22: [: =: unary
operator expected
Starting SlimServer: /etc/rc.d/init.d/slimserver: line
33: daemon: command not found

Anyone else install on SUSE 9.3? Is it known to work
on this version of Linux?

Any hints, tips or tricks of the trade most apprec...

Thanks,

Kevin

The install script used is for a RedHat based script. This is discussed here:

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=17052&highlight=suse

Also, search the Forums for Suse and you'll find more info. Basically, you need to replace the /etc/init.d/slimserver startup script with one that's compatible with Suse.

Can someone add the SuSE script to the Wiki?

Thanks.
