hi all

I plan to buy a SqueezeBox2 (Wired). My favorite radio station has this link

http://asx.skypro.tv/asx/radio-drs/drs3.asx

is asx WMA format?

FAQ says:
"WMA Internet Radio streams are now supported as well."

can I hear my favorite radio station with PC switched off?

The latest version of the Squeezebox2 firmware (it comes with
SlimServer 6.2b2) has added support for WMA streams.

SqueezeNetwork will shortly be upgraded to use this capability to
support WMA streams when your computer is off. Probably a couple of
weeks.

This had been my favourite radio station for years. Though it isn't any
more I really don't want to miss Philip Maloney on sunday mornings. That's
why it's streaming through my SB2 right now :-).

Hi All,

(using beta from about 2 weeks ago)

I recently bought a iPod and had to convert my WMAs to MP3. I then had to
jump to iTunes (from WMP) to manage the iPod. (I know what I've done is
prably bad, but that's not the issue....)

iTunes seems to want to split albums into different directories by artist
unless the "compilation" tag is set. For various reasons I don't always want
to set the Compilation flag.

WMP seemed to use the Album Artist tag and then use that to file songs in
directories.

iTunes seems to ignore this flag.

Now the problem. I have set Slim to use iTunes and I can't work out what
it's doing. It used to follow the WMP way of doing things and would list
albums as a whole rather than splitting them (apparently I now have 1800
albums rather than the real 400). However, even when I have set the
Compilation flag and they are filed in one directory, it is still splitting
them. I tried setting the Album Artist flag and it seems to be ignoring
that.

Can somebody explain to me:
- what the iTunes plug-in for Slim actually does? I.e. does it only
ready the iTunes Library, or does it does this and scan files or what?
- if it does scan files as well, how does the rescan iTunes interval
work?
- How can I get Slim to show me real whole albums (like it used to when
I used WMP?

PS - I know this is not the place but:
- Has anybody got iTunes to recognise ";" in tags?
- Has anybody got iTunes to change the way it renames song files?
- Has anybody got iTunes to manage whole albums like WMP does?

Many thanks for any help

Stuart
