I posted the "Handheld2" skin a while back, well I updated it to match
the existing Handheld better and called it Handheld3.

Below are the obligatory screenshots.

This is in Windows Mobile 2003 Internet Explorer with the Address Bar
turned off;
http://www.mikeb.org/IE-Hh3.bmp

and this is WM 2003 as well, except in NetFront with the Location
ToolBar turned off and in Full Screen mode;
http://www.mikeb.org/NF-Hh3.bmp

I prefer to use my iPaq in Landscape mode, but it will work in
Portrait as well.

I tarred up the whole directory, but the only things that changed are
status.html and the inclusion of a few extra images stolen from other
skins. You can grab it here;

This is more for my own use than anything since I've purposely removed
functionality that I don't use. I urge anyone who likes it to modify
it to your liking and track Michael Herger's (who does a great job)
work on the Handheld skin to keep it up to date.

I mostly wanted to have the functionality I needed, with some
graphics, and move the pretty part to the top. I also wanted to be
able to track the playlist from the status screen since I am primarily
using the Random Mix plugin now with only a few tracks at a time in
the playlist.

I hope someone finds this useful.

Thanks again to Michael (and the other skin maintainers I ripped off
here) for his work on the Handheld skin. My Squeezebox2s are better
for it!

Mikeb,
I like the look of that skin and would like to use it but Winzip can't open the TAR file. (Error reading header after processing 0 entries). Will the skin work on Windows? And if so could you make it available in some other format that we can access?

Thanks

Weird. Here it is in ZIP format for you;

Thanks Mike, that unzips fine. The selection for the player doesn't appear to work. Does that make any sense?

Hrm, assuming you're looking in the right spot at the bottom, I'm not
sure why it wouldn't work. It is working for me, and is the exact
same code as the Handheld skin. Does it function in the Handheld skin
for you? What OS/Browser are you using?

Hi Mike,
I'm using IE on XP or PPC2003, bith behave the same. I can see the drop down list of players, but whichever I select, it reverts to the default.

Also, the link is at the top right, not the bottom. Selecting a different player doesn't work work in the standard Handheld skin either, strange, 'cause it used to. I'm on a nightly from a couple of days ago.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

John
