View Full Version : SoftSqueeze and SqueezeNetwork?

Is SqueezeNetwork meant to work with SoftSqeeze? If so, is there a trick? When I choose the SqueezeNetwork menu item, SoftSqueeze displays the message, "Connection failed. Please check server settings," and then freezes. I can't see what settings, either in SoftSqueeze or in the SlimServer http interface, would be relevant.

Everything else seems to work OK: I can play local files and radio, controlled either by SoftSqueeze or the browser. Well, actually, "Favorites" seem to go off into space, but perhaps that is the same problem (if they actually go off to the inaccessible SqueezeNetwork).

SlimServer Version: 6.1.1 - 3774 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
Softsqueeze version 2.0b11 (on same computer)
No actual Squeezebox yet (on the way)

It used to work; I have just checked in a new version of Softsqueeze (2.0) that has this fixed. Look for it in the next nightly.

That's the trick. Thanks, Richard, for that and for SoftSqueeze altogether.

Richard,
Is the change that you made going to be released on sourceforge as beta 12?

Ignore, just got last night's nighly and discovered that 2.0 is no longer in beta.

I will post a new version of Softsqueeze on sourceforge, just want to nail another couple of bugs first.

Just noticed that Squeezebox kan play wma streams from SqueezeNetwork but Softsqueeze can't.

Is that right or is just me?

Squeezebox2 and Squeezebox 3rd generation have wma support.
Softsqueeze has not
yet been updated for native wma.

Ok, but I can play the same stream with Slimserver and Softsqueeze.

Guess Slimserver take care of it then?
