Hi, i'm not a wizzkid in computing, but I love listening music. that is why I bougth a squeezebox. One question: I have installed the slimserver software under my own account (being the manager of the powerbook G4). When my wive is logging in the software stops running and I do not have music any more.

What to do?
And please not I am only using computers, not programming them....

XP is not relevant (a misthink?) as the poster is using a Mac Powerbook.

What I was wondering was, whether when the second person logged in,
the first person was logged out (in which case, slimserver would be
expected to stop) or whether fast user switching was used, so that
both users were logged in. If that were done, I would expect that
slimserver for the original user would continue to work, but I have
not checked it.

Yes, that's correct. I missed the MacOS platform reference, and hence deleted my foolish post. Sorry for the mistep.

Indeed I am a Mac user...
I have tried the quick user switch option and you are right Slimserver keeps running, because I am the default first user when the computer starts up.
Thank you very much.
I wasn't aware that slimserver also worked on Gates machines.. otherwise I would have stated my platform more clearly.
Any how thanks for your answer too.
