G'day all,

I used to use 'obs' to play my mp3 collection before getting a squeezebox.
It has a random play function with the added + of marking what it had played and then not playing it until every other track had been played.

I liked this feature and started to see how I could add it in, I got so far and realised I needed to keep track of it per player, I left it at that point.

The other feature was that you could add tracks to the playlist it would play them and when it had run out of tracks you had selected it would start to add it's own randomly, I really liked this as well.

Yeah, that's a bit hard to do, but not impossible. You'd need a new table in the database to keep track of when a client last played a track. Sadly, this would get wiped on every complete rescan. I'm hoping that these will become less and less necessary with the future releases.

If you're talking about the random mix included in 6.2 beta, you can already do that.
