View Full Version : Can I Fast Forward?

Hello All,

I am trying to use the SoftSqueeze 2.0b9 player to get an idea of how the SqeezeBox2 will perform and I have a question. Is it really not possible to fast forward through a track? All I can do is skip to the next track or back a track. It would be a bummer to not be able to back up 20 seconds to listen to something again or to fast forward to the part I want to listen to in a 20 minute track off one of my Classical CD's.

Is this just a problem with the SoftSqueeze 2.0b9 player or does this "feature" carry over to the SqeezeBox2?

Thanks
Darren

You can fast forward through any track that is a native format. For
Squeezebox2, this means MP3, WAV, AIFF, Flac, and WMA(as of 6.2 beta)

All other formats are decoded and re-encoded on the fly by the server,
so there
is no way as yet to scan forward or reverse for those file formats.
