When I try and activate shn ... I get this message...

as it says, a required binary is missing. shorten and osx are not
included with the osx build, so you will have to download and install
one or both in order to get the transcoding for shorten files. flax is
already included, so for SB2 devices, all you should need is shorten.

then, probably install it. then hopefully the binary will be found by
slimserver. If not, find where shorten is installed and copy it to
/Library/PreferencPanes/SlimServer.prefPane/Contents/server/Bin
