Hello,

I've installed slimserver-6.1.1-1.noarch.rpm on my CentOS Linux 4.1 Dell server and I want to configure this before I buy a squeezebox.

The install went fine but if I go to server settings and try to setup the music folder I have the following problem:

The mp3 files are located in:
/home/devellion/music/Music (This folder defininitely exists)

User: music
Owner: devellion
Chmod: 0775

However it always returns the message:
"Oops - "/home/devellion/music/Music" doesn't seem to be a valid directory. Try again."

BUT it accepts:
/home/devellion/music

However when I rescan the music directory I get the message:

"The server is now rescanning your Music Library."

This just stays on the screen an no music ever show up.

Any ideas?

Does slimserver need to be part of a certain group or something?

Thanks in advance for any help...

p.s. I have to use CentOS as I need an Enterprise version os linux to run on the Dell office server as it is more intel friendly. :)

Permissions. Does the slimserver user has access rights to those
folders?

> Does slimserver need to be part of a certain group or something?

Make it a member of the owning group.

How do you know? Do no songs show up? The informational line won't
disappear without an update of the web interface.

Did you install the rpm or a tar ball?
