In SlimServer Version: 6.2b1 - 4334 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252 tracks are played in alphabetical order (instead of using the track number) when playing them unshuffled.

Maybe this has been reported before, but I could not find it so I thought I'd mention it here.

Bye

Peter,

How are you adding these tracks to your playlist?

Hello Dean

I always use Browse Music folder and start playing at folder level of what I want to hear. That is: the folder of a cd when that's what I want, folder of an artist when I want to hear all of this artist, folder of a genre when I want to hear all of a genre. And top level folder when randomly selecting from my complete 30.000+ track collection, but then there are a bit too many surprises :-)

Browse Music Folder is my selection tool, although from slimserver 6 on it is a bit slower than before; I never save playlists.

In all previous versions, choosing an album played the album in tracksequence, unless shuffle was on offcourse.

Bye & thanks
Peter

With the recent versions, Browse Music Folder does everything by file
name (this was a hard decision to make, there were people pushing for
it and performance issues).

Can you use the Browse Artist/Album/Genre to queue up your songs?
Alternatively can you name your files so that they include a track
number that would sort them by file name properly?

Sounds like bad news, then? Although performance indeed was an issue with Browse Music Folder in 6.1

Not sure if I understand your question here...I guess I can, but using the browse music folder is firmly rooted in my daily SB habits. I'll try to change this, but I still think BMF should not be forgotten.

This may be the easiest way, although it requires renaming all tack filenames..guess Tag&Rename will be of help here...

Thanks
