Squeezebox Redesign

I am thinking about building my SB2 into a new enclosure with a new linear regulated power supply, new headphone amplifier (based on the Pimeta from Tangent), and a DAC (undecided).

Here is my basic idea for the enclosure, any suggestions?

The major attraction of a different chassis would be some sort of magnification in the display perhaps by the use of a fresnel sheet. Or perhaps I'm just as blind as a bat.

I always thought the display on the SB2 is just right, but then I live in an apartment and my listening room / bedroom is really small so I'm never more than 5-8 feet away.
