View Full Version : ScreenSaver in off state can't be turned off

Running the lastest svn, my SB2 is set to Screensaver when off -> None via the SB2 itself. However, when I turn it off I get the clock. Quick fix or shall I file a bug?

The settings via the web interface also show the screensaver set to None.

Max - the 'off' mode looks to me as if it always displayed a clock. I would prefer it returned a blank screen, but I am not sure it has ever done so?

Did you used to get this (other than from my patch to stop the saver when brightness was 0 as this was in it too...?

'none' is simply no screensaver. It is not a blank display. As such, when you
set this for 'off' mode, you get the same old datetime display that has always
been the display lines for 'off' mode.

it sounds like what you want is a 'blank' screensaver.

Actually I'd argue for 'off' to be blank, that way when the player is set to a non date time screensaver you don't get the <1 flash of the date time display.

Any views Dean?
[probably put something in to kick off the screensaver immediately it switches into the off mode to make it look like it does now]

I think that the "none" screensaver should do a blank screen when the
player is off.

Isn't there also an option to have the screensaver in off mode be the DateTime screensaver, or something like? It's a bit confusing to have two options that mean clock, but I'm not near my server to check this.

Max - please try svn 4326. This should give a blank screen if no off screensaver is selected.
