Hello all,

Can anyone recommend some nice powered/active speakers to run from an SB2 to
go into a living room which is full of predominantly 'wood' finish items as
opposed to anything black.

They need to be available in the UK and whilst I am not looking for an
audiophile solution - neither am I looking for a PC accessory.

Kind regards

I have a set of Edirol MA10D's if you are interested, bought them for a client who changed their mind (typical!!)

These ones: http://www.edirol.it/europe/details.asp?ct=3&gid=21&gruppo=Active+Monitor+Speakers&id=12&la=UK&code=222

They are excellent sound quality, I use my own set for demoing the squeezebox as I can't carry around a full hifi and have had no complaints so far!!

If you are interested, drop me an email at andrew@audiofi.co.uk , I'm based in the UK as well, would be looking for about £90 including postage (they are brand new, unopened!!)

Andrew

Mods, I hope this is OK

I'm never terribly sure why people want active speakers with a SB: it seems to me that since you have to seperately power each speaker AND run audio cables from the SB to each, you might as well get a neat amp and hide it somewhere near the SB.

See http://www.at-view.co.uk/installations.htm for a picture of my solution.

I use the MA-15Ds, and although I've only been able to listen to them via the SB2 for a limited time due to other issues, the sound quality is very good via the optical digital in. Tomorrow I'll be giving them a thorough test, and I'm also intending to trial the analog audio outs from the SB2 to see if there's a difference between the two.
