View Full Version : Help with Softsqueeze Audio Dropout Please

Hi,

I have been running Softsqueeze 2 on a Windows XP SP2 PC now for a while, and whilst it seems to be functioning very well in most areas, I am having a quirky and incredibly annoying problem that goes something like this...

Whenever I add an album to the end of a playlist that has just ended, exactly two thirds of the way through the first track of the newly added playlist the audio drops out, though the track progress bar still proceeds, so it doesn't appear to be a lockup.

I have been plagued by this problem with every version of Softsqueeze 2, ever since I first started using it seven months or so ago.

I own an SB2, and this problem has never manifested itself. Out of interest, the problem can be replicated on all four PCs on my LAN.

The tech stuff:

SlimServer Version: 6.1.2 - 4157 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252

Softsqueeze Version: 2.0b9
Java Version 1.5.0
Audio Mixer: SB Audigy 2 (FDCO)
Audio Buffer Size: 128000
MP3 Decoder: Java MP3 Plugin

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Marc

I have added bug 2346 (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2346).

I don't seem to be able to recreate this, could you please post
step-by-step instructions. Thanks.

Richard,

Thanks for trying, but I should tell you that I haven't monitored this thread for a while. I haven't been plagued by this bug for some time.

I think that problem was cleared up when I installed Softsqueeze 2.0b11.

Though if you want the specifics....

Trigger Softsqueeze 2.0b9 with Slimserver 6.1.2 running. Load a playlist and allow it play and finish. When it has completed, load a new playlist without clearing the old one manually and from my experience the first track will go mute at almost exactly the two-thirds mark every time.

The system configuration details can be found at the end of my original post.

I hope this helps, and once again thanks.
